The GameDev Syndicate is the unified front of Innlandet's independent game development scene. We are a coalition of distinct studios, ranging from industry veterans to fresh talent, bound together by a shared passion for the craft. We are the developers, artists, and storytellers who believe that a strong industry is built on community, not just competition. We are independent, but we stand together.
Most of our members are located in Hamar, but we aim to be a pillar for the game development industry in the entire Innlandet. If you are starting up or already have and think this is interesting, please send us a message!
Our goals
Our goal is to solidify Innlandet as a powerhouse for game development. We aim to create an ecosystem where creativity is fueled by collaboration. By sharing our experiences, technical challenges, and business insights, we want to lower the barrier to entry for new developers and raise the ceiling for established ones.
We want to ensure that every studio in our alliance has the support they need to ship world-class games.
Community
Game development isnt only endless crunches towards deadlines. We believe an industry as ours needs to foster its community in order to fuel the creativity and strengthen the bonds between us as companies and individuals.
History
Our roots run deep in the region’s history. The Syndicate is built on the foundation of the Hamar Game Collective, the initiative that originally put this region on the map as the "Game Capital of Norway." While names and structures evolve, the core mission remains unchanged. We carry the torch of that legacy, continuing over a decade of cooperation to define the future of Norwegian game development.
